Every month First Unitarian shares its Sunday plate with a justice making organization. In response to the global refugee crisis, for the month of September, 2015, First U has opted to support the  joint Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) and the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Refugee Crisis Fund which has a goal to raise $250,000 this month.  Donations to the fund will go directly to partners operating on the ground in countries receiving refugees. The work will focus on ensuring the safe passage of refugees seeking safety and helping refugees access their rights in host countries.  Additionally, the UUSC and the UUA are circulating a petition asking the United States to accept 200,000 refugees.  To read more, donate and/or sign the petition, click here.
