First Unitarian Youth Group to Help Refugee Children in Long Island

Members of our Youth Group enjoy a visit to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade

On Sunday, April 3rd, the First U Youth will host an interfaith service initiative with youths from other local congregations. They’re putting our ideals into action and need your help getting school supplies for refugee children on Long Island.

They’ll be doing this work for CARECEN, an immigrant legal defense and advocacy organization that provides children from Central America with legal representation as they face long court trials and possible deportation.  In 2016, CARECEN expects to serve approximately 200 children and youth ranging in age from 3 to 18.

Our youth with youth from other congregations will be packing up needed school supplies and story books along with notes of love and support.  Click here to help by purchasing items to be packed.  There are gifts for all budgets.
