Friday Night at The Movies: February 21st, 7:00PM, Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel

Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel is a fascinating look at the influential editor of Harper’s Bazaar and editor in chief of Vogue.  During her fifty-year reign as “Empress of Fashion” she launched Twiggy, advised Jackie Onassis and helped popularize the historical collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute.  “An intimate portrait and a vibrant celebration of one of the most influential women of the twentieth century, Diana Vreeland is an enduring icon who has had a strong influence on the course of fashion, beauty, publishing and culture.” Directed by Diana’s sister, Lisa Vreeland, the NY Times said: “Atwitter before Twitter, Diana was a fabulous wit who brings to mind Wilde and Warhol.” Screening is in the Chapel (enter on Pierrepont St between Clinton and Monroe).
