Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel is a fascinating look at the influential editor of Harper’s Bazaar and editor in chief of Vogue.  During her fifty-year reign as “Empress of Fashion” she launched Twiggy, advised Jackie Onassis and helped popularize the historical collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute.  “An intimate portrait and a vibrant celebration of one of the most influential women of the twentieth century, Diana Vreeland is an enduring icon who has had a strong influence on the course of fashion, beauty, publishing and culture.” Directed by Diana’s sister, Lisa Vreeland, the NY Times said: “Atwitter before Twitter, Diana was a fabulous wit who brings to mind Wilde and Warhol.” Screening is in the Chapel (enter on Pierrepont St between Clinton and Monroe). Light refreshments will be available.  The film series is sponsored by the Women’s Alliance of the First Unitarian Congregational Society.  All are welcome!
