New Forward Team to Study First U Growth
HOW Many People Were at First U Last Sunday!?!
Solving a Good Problem
If you have been attending First U for a year or longer, you have certainly noticed that more and more people are finding their way to our worship services, activities and membership. And this is wonderful – so many great new people sharing their gifts with us and each other! But this is also a potential problem – a good one – but still one we have to address. How can we grow and stay connected? How can we encourage our minister, staff and lay leaders to lead more and more UUs without burning out? How can we all fit in our beautiful, but old buildings? How can we afford everything we want to do?
The Board of Trustees has appointed a study group, called the Forward Team, and engaged a consultant, John Wimberly, to help us plan solutions to this wonderful problem that we have. This Sunday, September 14, the consultant will meet with the board, staff, Forward Team, and committee chairs to begin the process. Within a few weeks the Forward Team will be coming to the board and then congregational groups to get feedback on the first aspects of the plan. There will be many opportunities for congregant input, so stay tuned.
