Justice

Unitarian Universalists are dedicated to living our faith and practicing what we preach. Our sixth principle calls us to work toward “world community with peace, liberty and justice for all”.  We believe that deeds speak louder than creeds.  Therefore, volunteering in times of crisis, working for civil rights and climate justice,  and combating oppression are essential parts of our spiritual journey. Unitarians and Universalists have long worked for justice in the United States and abroad, advocating for the free practice of religion, helping to abolish slavery, marching for civil rights, and supporting a woman’s right to reproductive health.

We continue to work for justice today in ways that resonate with our principles, from protecting our environment to working for the rights of immigrant communities to standing up for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people, to ensuring every woman has control over her reproductive health.
